I like to joke that I've been a "professional gentleman" for the last ten and a half years, but it's true. The idea that a commissioned officer in the Armed Forces of the United States is an "Officer and a Gentleman" is very real. Today is officially my last day on active duty. I enlisted in October of 2000, commissioned as an officer in May of 2016, and I retire today just over two weeks short of 26 years. It's been the greatest privilege of my life to serve my country, and I look forward to the next chapters of my life.
