#dailyspark “a greenhouse on the back of a whale”
Prompt
colorized Sketch a vast humpback whale breaching through calm ocean waters, its barnacle-crusted back supporting a sprawling Victorian greenhouse of iron and glass panels, condensation fogging the panes from within. Inside the greenhouse, a mermaid kneels among terracotta pots and trailing vines, her scaled tail curled beneath her, hands pressing dark soil around a flowering plant. Rendered entirely in pencil sketch style — loose crosshatching defines the whale's ridged skin and the greenhouse's arched ribs, fine stippling captures the mermaid's iridescent scales and tangled hair pinned with a small bloom. Soft graphite shading separates the whale's dark underwater mass from the bright glass structure above the waterline. Sunlight streams through the greenhouse panels, casting latticed shadow lines across the mermaid's arms and the mossy floor. Climbing roses, hanging fern baskets, and scattered seed packets fill the shelves behind her. Wispy pencil strokes suggest ocean mist and a faint horizon where sea meets overcast sky. Medium-shot framing captures the full whale silhouette and the greenhouse in detail, with a slightly elevated angle to reveal both the ocean surface and the interior garden scene simultaneously.
