Don Quixote, on horseback, charges with his old wooden lance at a windmill that is in reality nothing more than a skeletal drilling rig, whose blades grind flesh-coloured tendons instead of fabric. The landscape is a nightmarish engraving: a cracked earth revealing bioluminescent veins, splattered by acid rain. His horse writhes in pain, its musculature laid bare by intricate hatching. Above him, a sickly sky unfurls into clouds resembling infected tissue. The windmill’s shaft pierces a huge, watchful eye anchored on the horizon. A stark chiaroscuro where acid greens and purples blend into sepia tones. Every surface is torn between the lines of the engraving and a tortuous organic geometry.
