After finishing my fifth album, *The Machina Passage*, I felt like something had changed in me creatively. It was the album I had always wanted to make, and finally accomplishing that gave me a sense of freedom—and a whole new set of skills—to carry into my sixth album, *The Dissociatives*. This has been the fastest album I’ve ever created. I didn’t have to force it or overthink it. The songs just flowed through me, one after another. And for the first time, while making this album, **I truly felt like an artist.** Not just someone making songs, but someone who had found their own voice and knew what they wanted to say. *The Dissociatives* feels like a new beginning for me musically. It feels like everything I learned from the first five albums brought me here, and now I’m stepping into something new.
